Terry Crews is excited to show off his signature pec-popping dance on the AGT live shows this season. He joined Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk about the return of the live audience when it comes to the Season 16 live shows. As he sadly waves goodbye to his NBC show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he is excited about his Golden Buzzer and what’s to come on AGT.

Terry Crews Confirms a Full Capacity ‘AGT’ Audience

Season 15 of AGT was filmed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The show had a virtual audience in the live shows. This season, the auditions have a limited live audience. Terry explains that the audience will be “full force, everything back 100%” once they do the live shows at the Dolby Theater for Season 16.

“I get jealous of people who are like comedians because they get to do live shows all the time so I decided to get my own live show,” he says through laughter. “I said ‘I’m going to host AGT so I can get this live love.'”

It’s so easy to read the excitement on Terry’s face talking about the return of the live audience. He describes himself as a “honey-baked ham.” He admits that the energy of the crowd is one of the reasons why he pops his pecs. One act that will get Terry’s pecs popping in the live shows is his Golden Buzzer World Taekwondo Demonstration Team.

Terry found this act’s audition to be “absolutely insane.” They used their skills to fly through the air and break wooden boards which sent shrapnel flying in Terry’s direction. The group, unfortunately, had to miss out on the Olympics because of COVID-19. They will be one of the highlights of the upcoming AGT live shows.

Terry also gushed about his son, Isaiah Crews, following in his footsteps to pursue acting. Isaiah currently stars in the Nickelodeon show Side Hustle. But it wasn’t always so easy for him to snag a role on television even with a famous father. Terry never applies pressure to his children to pursue acting but is more than supportive of their careers.

“First of all I never wanted to be that guy who put things on my kids because my dad always wanted me to go to the Army and I didn’t want to go to the Army,” he says in the interview. “And all he talked about was how much he wanted me to go to the Army. You feel like you disappointed him and the whole thing. I would never put that pressure on my kids.”

Isaiah was rejected from roles for five years before getting his big break. Terry feels that being an actor means you will more than likely face rejection at some point in your life. He was there for Isaiah every step of the way. The father of five will finally be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year for all of his work on television.
