Snoop Dogg is going to the Olympics — kind of. The rapper will be hosting a highlights show with comedian Kevin Hart during the Tokyo Games later this summer. Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg, will be available to watch on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service.

Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart to Recap Tokyo Olympics

Snoop and Hart will provide commentary recapping the best moments, as well as the most unexpected happenings, during the Tokyo Olympics. The show will be produced by Hart’s company LOL Studios. The comedian signed a multi-year deal with Peacock last year.

At NBCUniversal’s Upfronts presentation in May, Hart teased an upcoming sports comedy show with Snoop, whom he called “the man, the myth and the legend.” Snoop, The Voice mega-mentor has his own series in development with Peacock about the world’s dumbest criminals.

Snoop recently judged on the TBS talent competition Go-Big Show, and also appeared as a Mega Mentor for the contestants on Season 20 of The Voice earlier this year. The rapper also has plenty of experience offering hilarious commentary, as he’s narrated nature videos on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Hart and Snoop have also hung out before. They did a movie called Soul Plane together, and Hart told Stephen Colbert about smoking with the rapper. He said “it didn’t end well,” joking that he was “high for three weeks.”

When Are the Tokyo Olympics?

The Tokyo Summer Olympics, which were originally supposed to take place last year, will kick off July 23 and run through August 8, 2021. The event is still being marketed as Tokyo 2020, even though it’s a year late. NBC is the home of Olympics coverage.

Snoop Dogg isn’t the only talent show star who’s getting into the Olympics spirit. The Voice coach Nick Jonas will join his fellow Jonas Brothers for an NBC special airing July 21. The brothers will compete against each other with the help of some Team USA athletes.
