Simon Cowell recruited his dog Squiddly to help him judge one of the auditions on Tuesday night’s America’s Got Talent. Appropriately, the act involved a singing dog and her human.

This week marked the final round of auditions, and included several acts judged remotely. That included Chris and Syd, a country singer who performs with his dog. Check out their audition below.

Simon Cowell’s Dog Squiddly Judges An ‘AGT’ Act

Chris performed his audition from his truck in Cedar City, Utah. He said his dog Syd is “supposed to be a cowdog, but to tell the truth, she’s kinda scared of cows.” Simon pointed out that he and Heidi had their dogs with them at home.

Simon, who was in pajamas on his couch, introduced his dogs Squiddly and Daisy. It wasn’t long before Daisy got bored and went away, but Squiddly stayed with Simon while he watched the audition.

Chris performed the song “Look At You Girl” by Chris LeDoux, while Syd howled along with him. The judges were delighted by it, with Simon calling it “brilliant.” We all know how much he loves dogs.

“You’ve got a good voice. Your dog actually was singing along with you,” Simon Cowell said. “And Sqiddly was tapping her head as it went along. So we both actually loved it.” Chris received four “yes” votes from the judges to move forward. Simon joked that he had “five yesses,” because Squiddly said yes too.

How Many Dogs Does Simon Have?

In addition to Squiddly, Simon Cowell also has a dog named Diddly, whom he has called Squiddly’s “partner in crime.” He also adopted his late mother’s dog Freddie after her death.

In 2019, Simon adopted rescue dog Daisy from Barbados. She was reportedly abandoned with her two puppies and nursed back to health by the charity K9.

Simon loves his dogs so much, he wants to clone them, telling The Sun, “We’ve thoroughly looked into it, got all the details and I can prove to you I’m going to clone them. There is documentation.”

“I am doing it because I cannot bear the thought of them not being around,” he added. “I might actually do it sooner rather than later, which will mean we have six dogs running around.’
