The Voice teams are full and we are now on to the next portion of the competition, the battle rounds. In these rounds coaches put two or three acts together to battle against each other in front of the audience. In this early release of October 11’s episode, we see that coach Kelly Clarkson has Girl Named Tom battle head to head with country singer Kinsey Rose.

The two acts took to the stage to sing a mellow and airy version of “Seven Bridges Road” by Eagles. Both the trio Girl Named “Tom” and Kinsey began this song out with their beautiful vocals. After that the group and artist passed the chorus lines back and forth throughout their battle.

The coaches were seen stunned during the majority of this performance. Both Girl Named Tom and Kinsey sounded absolutely beautiful in this song, so I think Clarkson will have a hard time choosing the winner.

Immediately after their performance, Blake Shelton said that Girl Named Tom and Kinsey should perform together all the time. Shelton had great things to say about both of the acts on stage but couldn’t give his opinion.

“They pay me to pick people but I don’t care, I’ll take a pay cut, I’m not going to say, it’s too good,” said Shelton.

Ariana Grande went on to say that the artists went on to arrange their piece really well. Clarkson interjected and expressed that the artists arranged it themselves. All of the coaches seemed impressed by that fact. In the end, Grande agreed with Shelton in saying that all four of them could form one group but she personally leaned toward Girl Named Tom.

When it Comes to Solo Vocals, Kinsey is the Winner

John Legend was the last to give his opinion before Clarkson chose her winner. He called the act inspiring and beautiful. But, he also pointed out that as a soloist, Kinsey was the best.

Up until this moment Clarkson was the only coach who had heard Girl Named Tom individually, so when Bekah stepped out near the end of the song, everyone was surprised. Bekah recieved a compliment about her solo performance from Shelton, but Legend didn’t think she was comparable to Kinsey.

Clarkson said she was proud of the artists, but there was a cliffhanger on who the singer chose as the winner of the battle. No matter who wins or loses this battle, I’m sure they’ll be stolen by another coach. There’s absolutely no way we’ll see Girl Named Tom or Kinsey go home this early in the competition.

From this early release, it’s so obvious that Team Kelly will be a force to be reckoned with this season. Team Kelly has some of the strongest competitors, I mean come on these two acts were great, Holly Forbes is amazing, this might be the season of Kelly.
