Sometimes, acts on BGT pleasantly surprise the judges. One perfect example is Guy First, also known as State of the Fart, who delivered a unique first audition in 2019.
Guy’s talent involved making fart noises with his hands, to the tune of popular songs. His audition had the audience laughing, and the judges were actually impressed by him.
Guy First (State Of The Fart) On ‘BGT’
Before his audition, 26-year-old Guy shared with the BGT judges that he was from Israel. He called himself a “musician,” saying he’d been performing music since he was 7 years old, and had recorded with a few bands.
Guy started his performance by hand-farting along to the ’80s classic “Take on Me” by a-ha. He then transitioned into the Ghostbusters theme music. The audience laughed, and judges Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden even sang along.

He finished his audition with “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. The audience clapped along with him, and when it was over, the judges gave him a standing ovation. David Walliams called it “one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen on Britain’s Got Talent.”
Simon Cowell said he was thinking of how his son Eric would react to the performance, saying Guy would be “his favorite act on the show tonight.” He and the other three BGT judges voted “yes” to sending Guy through.
State Of The Fart Performs Britney Spears
Guy First made it to the BGT semifinals, where he performed to “Toxic” by Britney Spears, “The Final Countdown” by Europe, and “We Will Rock You” by Queen. Alesha buzzed the act, but the other judges stood up.

The audience booed Alesha for buzzing him, as she wondered whether the act deserved to go to the Royal Variety Performance. Simon, meanwhile, called it his “favorite act so far” during the semifinals, adding that his son would be trying to make fart noises later.
Even though he didn’t make it to the BGT finals, Guy is still making fart noises. He has a YouTube channel with 13,000 subscribers, in which he farts along to popular songs such as the Friends theme song and “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys.
