American Idol Season 20 will come to an end Sunday night with a three-hour finale, and we have a prediction for who will be crowned the winner. The competition is down to the Top 3 finalists — HunterGirl, Leah Marlene, and Noah Thompson.

‘American Idol’ Season 20 Winner Prediction

There’s no doubt that all three finalists are talented, and they’ve shown impressive growth over the course of the season. They’ve all been voted through week after week by America, without the judges saving them. But only one singer can be named the winner.

Going into the finale, I predict that HunterGirl will be take home the title. It’s clear that plenty of country fans watch the show, since two out of the three finalists are country artists. HunterGirl earned a Platinum Ticket from the judges after her audition, and she also happens to have the largest social media following of the Top 3, with 115,000 on Instagram and 41,000 on TikTok.

She’s also a talented songwriter, as she performed her original track “Heartbreak Down” earlier in the season. It appears on her recent EP One Day, which has done well on the iTunes charts. If HunterGirl were to win, she would be only the second female country artist to claim the title, after Carrie Underwood in Season 4.

Still, this season has had some shocking results, so it’s definitely possible that either Leah or Noah will snag the win. Leah has shown amazing growth from a quirky singer-songwriter to a developed, mature artist with a powerhouse voice. Noah has also improved his stage presence and confidence since earlier in the season, and the audience has a recent tradition of voting for male country singers like Laine Hardy and Chayce Beckham.

What Else to Expect from the Finale

Sunday’s Season 20 finale will be three hours long, so there will be plenty of performances to enjoy, not only from the Top 3 but also from some special guests. It was recently revealed that judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan will be performing with Leah and HunterGirl, respectively. Noah will perform with Melissa Etheridge.

Christian Guardino will also be performing with Michael Bublé, while Jay will take the stage with Earth, Wind & Fire. Lady K will team up with Ben Platt for a performance, and Mike Parker will sing with Deana Carter. Tai Verdes will also perform with the finalists. Other performers include Carrie Underwood and Gabby Barrett.

Sunday’s finale will include a round dedicated to Bruce Springsteen. The Top 3 will also hopefully perform their recently released original singles. HunterGirl’s is called “Red Bird,” Leah’s is called “Flowers,” and Noah’s is called “One Day Tonight.”
