Chickenshed is described on the organization’s website as “a theatre company for absolutely everyone.” The group been around for almost 50 years, and they explained before their performance that they don’t audition members.

For their BGT performance, members of the group ranging in age from 5 to 37 took the stage to sing, dance, and rap. Their rendition of “Wonder” by Naughty Boy and Emeli Sandé put smiles on the judges’ faces and earned a standing ovation.

Dixon wasted no time hitting the Golden Buzzer before any of the judges had even shared their thoughts. She was in tears as confetti rained down on the stage. The group members celebrated the powerful moment, which sends them straight to the live shows.

“For me, it’s all about the love that’s on that stage in front of us, and everything that you represent,” Amanda Holden told the group. “It was a brilliant performance. Wonderful. Well done.”

Simon Cowell said he’s “known about Chickenshed for a long time” and wondered when they would audition for BGT. He added that their performance “really, really, really, really is a Golden Buzzer audition.”

Dixon closed things by saying, “I love every single thing that you stand for and what you represent. Inclusivity is so important. Everybody feeling represented. You do that in abundance, and you’re giving young people this incredible opportunity and platform.”
