The latest YouGov/Times voting intention poll, conducted following Rishi Sunak being announced as the prime minister, shows a slight shrinking in Labour's lead over the Conservatives. The figures show the Conservatives on 23% of the vote (+4 from our previous survey on 20-21 October) to Labour's 51% (-5).

Elsewhere, the Liberal Democrats have 9% of the vote (-1), while the Greens have 4% (no change) and Reform UK have 6% of the vote (+1).

Keir Starmer has a four point lead over Rishi Sunak in terms of the party leader Britons think would make the best prime minister, by 34% to 30%.
